Comic Book Review: DC Comics Essential Graphic Novels and Chronology 2015

In reading this review, you’ve got to keep in mind that this is a free book designed to list the graphic novels carried by DC Comics.

And what it’s designed for is perfect. Do you want to collect all the Multiverse books? Make sure you’ve collected (or read) all the Fables books? Then this book will ensure you’ve got the coverage you need.

Or if, as the intro says, you’re asking, Where do I begin?

It starts out with the 25 “Essential” DC graphic novels. It’s hard to argue with this; and I’ve read almost 20 of them.

Though I’m not sure I agree with the Court of Owls.

And then it breaks them out by heroes.

Then Vertigo titles.

And authors (like Neil Gaiman and Alan Moore).

Recommended if you want to see what stories you’re missing in the DC universe.

(And the cover is wonderfully meta.)

Thanks to NetGalley and DC comics for a copy in return for an honest review.
